Recently purchased this lovely little epergne it made me think it looked very much similar to a trumpet bowl wine
glass from the mid 18th century in its construction in a way, With a triangular shoulder sort of knop in the middle
to stop the flower. The metal is quite dark indeed and has a lovely amount of striations and wear to the base. The
piece rings very nicely and is made of pretty fine glass also. I looked and found reference to epergne going back into
the early 18th century however many  fancy glass ones were being made in the late 19th century this seems very
plain Jane for that type you see from that date and makes me think it might possibly be 18th century or early 19th
would love to hear others views its hard to show a good viewe of the glass but it has that feel of early glass to me
more smooth and shinny might well be wrong it sits 10" in height.
