Hot worked vase with striped decor ??Scandinavian??
« on: March 18, 2023, 08:06:59 PM »
Found a stubby shaped vase today in an antiques shop seems to have a bit of age and
has a good weight. The cabling decoration is a little bit imperfect in places but overall seems
to have a decent enough appearance reminds me of some i have seen in the past from Skandi
companies but i have not seen this one except on Ebay and it had no attribution sadly.
Any ideas as to age or where it might be made please stands about  6.5" x 4" maybe Czech..

Similar to Hermann Bongard, Hadeland - see here:

Check whether the dimensions and the shape of the clear glass around the top match.

Their signatures were neat and small, so if the above matches then out with the magnifying glass !

The finely ground but unpolished base makes me think it may well be Chinese from the early years of the 2000s.  Made now the base would be polished.
