Studio glass vases signed CZ - any ideas please?

(1/2) > >>

chilternhills:
I bought these vases at auction the other day, not knowing who made them, but just loved them. Both have the same monogram on the base, which seems to be CZ. The Z appears to have a stroke through it, European continental style.

The blue vase strapping incorporates copper aventurine. It stands 24 cm high, nearly 10 cm across the rim. The base is pressed in, concave, with a smoothed out pontil mark, as well as having the CZ monogram.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Anton

The second vase, also signed CZ.

The CZ could also be a G or a 3. Or even an E.  ???
The second one has the look of some Romanian glass, both could possibly fit in with work I've seen from Latvia, but I couldn't pin it down.

Similar in style to some contemporary Czech glass inspired by earlier Art Nouveau designs, Jan Zeman may be worth exploring as a starter.

Greg!   ;D
You have made me fall in lust again. You are dangerous to know.  ;)
I believe you are correct about the maker too.  8)
