Topic: Bohemian Vase ID Help

Is Bohemian the finest identification to be made for this unmarked vase? Hand blown. Opinions of age?

Replying only because I like your piece and no one else has replied. I wish I had something more concrete to contribute, but I would agree it's highly like to be Bohemian, from about 1890-1900, very much Art Nouveau in style.
As for maker..I think you're looking at one of the better Bohemian factories, but I'd like to hear what others think.

It might be by Moser but could also be by one of the other Bohemian or German makers. You could try searching this linked site but it might take you some time.

that site is fantastic although i don't have the time to search thoroughly at the moment. i think that my interest was more in the age and 1890-1900 fits well although i initially thought it was later. the art nouveau aspect confirms the dating.

There's a bit of controversy around that site with regard to some of their attributions, but it's certainly an impressive database of glass.

i agree that a lot of guessing goes into bohemian glass since so much of it is unmarked. that does not bother me. without catalogs or marks, a great deal of such glass will be guesses. i try to evaluate it based upon the merits with marks or confirmed identification being an added bonus. for certain classes of collectibles, such as wedgwood, that philosophy does not work.

There is a similar shape in the Harrach book pp316.

It's hard to tell if it's exactly the same as yours. The stem on yours looks a bit shorter I think. But the form is very similar.  How tall is yours?
The one in the book is dated 1901.

hat pin holder, so definitely produced while those were in fashion. pre ww-2 think Egermann or Italian.
