Strange Glass Object - Hand Blown - What is it?
« on: April 14, 2023, 05:30:35 PM »
Hello all at Glass Messages

Latest find in charity shop for 50p but what on earth is it?

Hand blown white and clear glass bowl with narrow neck to base with applied glass base rim to form the feet. The opening of the bowl does not sit on the surface but is about 1cm from the surface. It has an applied green glass loop hanging handle.

All I can think of is a wasp or fly trap but I am open to suggestions. If it is some sort of insect trap how does it work?

Any thoughts to what it can be used for and who made it?

Thanks in advance for your time

With best regards

Gary
