« on: April 19, 2023, 05:45:19 PM »
Unusual crackle jug with paint streaks throughout. 9 inches tall. Do any members now the country of origin or indeed the maker please? As always, than you for any help.

:) It's not paint streaks - it is tiny strands of enamel. This effect of coloured small canes/strands is known as Peloton. I can't help any further than that, but it might help a search.
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Thank you Sue, you are a minefield of knowledge. I have never heard of the term Peloton (apart from to do with bikes and cycling!). A quick Google boughtup an almost identical jug...deemed to be Bohemian and dating bac to the 19th century. Mystery solved. Thanks again.

:) Your knowledge is much better than mine Christine, but I do agree. Very high quality, old Bohemian.
