Hi , just got back from our neighbourly Friday evening beer o’clock so I’ll post some clearer images tomorrow. My uneducated glass making thoughts on the rim are that a cane rod could have been melted onto the rim , there is a slight lip between the body and the rim on a small section .

I'm interested in you saying there is a slight "lip" between the rim and the body.
Does the indent go all the way around? Could it have been applied using the incalmo technique?

I would suggest writing to Twists with images and ask them.

I don't know anything about glassmaking but the new photos now show an area that isn't such a neat finish on the cane application? or at least that's how it looks to my very untrained eye.
I don't have any Mike Hunter work rather unfortunately but online photographs of the work seems to show it all looks very neat and impeccably finished:

That is my concern too, flying-free.
Mike is incredibly neat with his latticino work. He's a true master, with innate talent.
