Topic: Signed Pudding Bowl which has taken a lot of stages - ID = Paşabahçe, Turkey

Many stages to this signed bowl:
Cobalt volcanic finish to outside
white glass/cobalt flecked pattern to inner
Thick clear glass casing to finish inner
Bevelled rim

Any thoughts as to why so many stages for a Pudding bowl?

your pictures need to be at 600 x 400 pixels to upload to a max of 125kb.  They will then be able to enlarge enough for us to see the detail.

I'm not sure it is a pudding bowl - perhaps a small plant pot maybe?

They aren't really large enough.  They need to be about 120kb.  I know it's really difficult to resize from my iphone but it would help a lot to be able to see the sig more clearly.  I think it possibly was made by Paşabahçe which is a Turkish glass manufacturer.  They make fabulous ornamental vases and bowls and also utility ware iirc.

I don't think it's a pudding bowl, there isn't a ridge near the top to secure the greaseproof paper and foil on top on with string, and several layers of glass would not really be practical for something you need to immerse in boiling water for hours.

Hi chopin-liszt, yes, I don't think it was designed as Pudding bowl - I just meant it was close to that shape which isn't a useful shape in terms of display or use i.e: a flower bowl/vase.

flying free, I'm not very bright and I'm not really understanding the resizing thing.  Have resized signature, but I'm still not sure if it right - this time I focused on the total mb size after playing around with figures.
Signature is hard to read, but think you must be right - couldn't make it out if I didn't have the name given, but last few letters do seem to be: bahce

Yes, that's Paşabahçe 

I've seen a few items that look as though they have surface texture and then that curiously opaque white internal layer to the piece.  I have a cameo piece layered in a similar way with the opaque white inner but cameo cut on the outer surface.

The blue they use is also lovely and quite distinctive.
