Whitefriars controlled bubble

(1/3) > >>

niktam:
Hi,
Bought this paperweight, many, many years ago, on eBay as Whitefriars.  Having moved to a smaller property am now listing bits and pieces bought over the years.
Want to list this for sale, but having looked at some W'f p'weights - they seem to be a solid colour with bubbles.  This piece has a large central lump of cobalt glass, then cased with clear glass and bubbles.
Does anyone regard this as Whitefriars or was it wrongly listed when I bought it?
Grateful for any help - don't want to mis-sell

Help please,
Am getting 403 - no permission to post - Is there a step I've missed or is it because of incorrect photos (although they seem to be within the 125kb, to me?).

Not a clue about that sorry, beyond my pay grade.

From your description sounds as if you may have one of the weights shown on this 1970 catalogue page:

Hi,
Thanks for your help - Sometime ago I did search W'f catalogues and was unsure then, that it wasn't the same.
I've given up for the moment and was using search on previous queries, the first one I came to was a question left years, over a decade, ago - not ever answered, which is the self-same design in green rather than blue.  Suggest to me it not Whitefriars so I'll continue searching and see if I can come up with a maker.
Many thanks for your time.

Hi,
Looked though previous queries and came upon Jaffe Rose controlled bubble p'weights - looked much the same, but taller and more u-shaped than my one.
Found Murano bubble and that does look similar - so forced to conclude it must be Murano (sigh)!
Many thanks for help given.
