So I found this vase, which I didnt realise was marked, thinking it was Venetian, similar to Vittorio Zecchin or something. It is about 23cm high, optic vertical ribs and folded rim, broken pontil and white opaque internal threading. When I was cleaning it I noticed there are several acid marks, all of which say the same thing, Foreign. I know there was a previous post discussing which countries marked items as Foreign for the UK consumer, but it really doesn't look Japanese or German. Date wise I would say its first half of the 20th century, there is quite a bit of wear on the high points of the base, as with other Venetian glass of the period (maybe 1920 to 1950?). Clearly whoever marked it wanted everyone to know it was Foreign as it has about 5 stamps in various places either side of the rim.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
