There is something about the shade of the opaque lilacy-blue reminds me of Charlie Meaker. A bit of a something about the shape too, and the base finish is consistent with his work. I do not know what his signature looks like, my bit isn't signed.
Just felt like flinging a wee spanner in.
Ignore me if you like.  :)

Ok I've now seen a pic of hers albeit from a distance and the colouration and the way the colours graduate is very very similar to yours.  I can't see in my old pic close enough to see the details but it's a stunning vase.  Forgot to ask her to send a pic yesterday. Memory failed me on shape though , it's a fab shape wide and big sort of flattened front to back oval shape in height, but no neck, just a wideish oval rim.
I was remembering another bottle vase she has on sat on the shelf below which is globular with neck.

I'm taking bets it's by Adam :)

Sorry, been out all day, have to admit Mr A was not on my radar. Saying that, he has been working for a long time now and he is both varied and prolific. Intriguing!

As for how the spots are made Sue not sure what else they could be other than bits of cane - murrine I suppose, dark purple centres with lilac outer layer. Looks like some sky blue enamel thrown in and a layer of white powder including some bigger white chunks over the top.

Some more photos but this time with better lighting, there is a slight greenish tint to the glass and something about that shape speaks to the 1980s for me...

I still think the last two inscriptions read 93.  Not that it helps with the signature...

It's lovely. The way the canes and colours have been worked and laid on is beautiful. It reminds me of 1920s French glass in that respect (although not the shape).

Yes there is a lightness of touch about it. A couple of days after I bought it I kept having the feeling I had seen it before. Then I remembered it was in the same shop the last time I stopped there five or six years ago. ::)

Another snap of the signature but heavily tweaked with extra shadow.

I checked Adam's signature on the base of a vase from 2005. It is nothing like this.
Also the vase shows evidence of what might be an 8-pronged rod being used, not a snapped off scar left - it looks to have been heat treated.
And it's nothing like the writing on this. Adam's writing is neat, completely legible and the script is rather spikey.

agree Sue.  Friend's vase well signed and easy for her to read- and if it wasn't she wouldn't have been able to tell me on the phone as not a glass collector.  So ... new pics do the last two letters now look like A I to anyone else? Weird that it's so badly signed but so beautifully and  proficiently made.
Also wondering if it might be French.  We were down there a lot up to about 12 years ago and there were a few glassmakers around where we lived.  They were doing some beautiful colours and decor (but the shapes didn't appeal to me that much so didn't buy anything whilst we were there )
