Topic: Unusual Glass Vase Help With ID Please

Can anyone help to identify this unusual vase, presumably 1960s or 70s, possibly Scandinavian?

17cm tall, 14cm maximum diameter, 6.5cm diameter base, weighs 530g.

Not cased or lined.

I can't quite make out how the top and base are connected.
The American company Blenko made this similar to this, as did Zbigniew Horbowy in Poland, ('70s era) but I think this might be from elsewhere and possibly newer.

The glass seems (very nicely) thick and the colour is not one I associate with either. It is also rather small for either of them.

I agree it is fabulous! It is blown in one piece I think. the glass in the lower section is thicker than that the top, which is relatively thin, the thick rim at the mouth gives a false impression of the glass thickness in the bulbous top section. I have added some more pictures to help to show more of how it is formed. Glad it's not just me that thinks it's fabulous.

The photograph of the neck rim looks as though it's not been highly polished? Is that just the photograph?

I would say it has not been highly polished. It is smooth but the raking light shows some texture there.

How does it compare to the base finish?
The roughness of the rim, which is enough to catch the light in this way, does not look consistent with the rest of it which is quality.
I'm now wondering if there might have been another big bubble on top of the one still htere, and there has been a repair job done to cut it down.

  The base has age-related wear, and I do not think it has been added. It looks just right.
But I can't tell if any part of it has been polished to a smooth high shine or not, from the photo.

The rim looks well done, I can't see edges, but it is just not as smooth and shiney as we'd expect - especially on something that is relying on a very clean kind of space-age feeling about it.
