Early Riedel vase markings
« on: January 02, 2024, 08:31:06 AM »
Hi! New to this board.  After a hiatus of sorts from collecting, I bought a new piece that caught my eye that I knew little about (I love the mystery in searching provenance).

I've identified this vase (hopefully correctly) as being of Josef Riedel (the father OR the son, maybe mark ID will help), late 1800s.

The mark on bottom "A/127" matches a very scant few other works i've searched that have been attributed to Riedel, with markings (as examples): "D/526", "C/398" etc.    I've no idea of the significance of the letter or the numbers, and was hoping someone here may be able to point me in the correct direction!

Picture links below for reference, and I appreciate the knowledge all of you have compiled here!
