Help identify bullseye type bowl, Thomas Webb??
« on: February 08, 2024, 11:44:41 AM »
Hi, can anyone help me identify this glass bowl or vase which I’ve had about 15 years? The closest I can find is Thomas Webb bullseye glass but there are no markings on the base of my bowl & I thought Webb’s glass usually had an engraved mark. I bought it from a house sale where a lot of the glass was Scandinavian. Height is 7 inches (18cm), dia 8 inches (20cm). Thanks

It looks the same as Thomas Webb bullseye but I thought the Gay Glass range only came in 3 colours - Spring, Sunshine and Evergreen. Maybe someone else will chime in who has seen a clear one in this range.

It's difficult to see from your photo but the "bullseyes" look to be too regularly spaced for Webb, which are usually more random. Some more photos from different angles would be useful.

Photo of vase - shows a lot of wear which makes me think at least 1930’s?

Thanks all for your comments - it looks like it is Webbs then, however the bullseyes are quite regular as NevB said. I’ve looked under the base again at various angles & various lights & can’t see any marks, but as I said before the bottom is very worn & scratched so that could be hiding a mark. Ashley

They don’t all seem to have marks in my limited experience, not sure why not ?

One of mine to compare, this one isn't marked either.

The Gay glass range was a colour range, not a design range. A base shot is always helpful, even unmarked please. And the bullseyes on all my Webb are regular, not random
