Polish opaline/opalescent handkerchief vase for reference.

(1/1)

Ekimp:
Actually originally sold as a tea light holder.

It has a Fiord TLH Opaline made in Poland label. I think it is probably made for LSA and TLH only stands for Tea Light Holder. There is a similar shaped clear one online described as Fiord LSA Tea Light Holder, that one is on a dead link so only visible in search results with not much information.

The base has a polished pontil mark that is elliptical rather than round, plus the base is polished flat. Cased in clear. About 3 inches tall.

I wonder how it would be described on eBay without the labels.

Very interesting, you may well have shed some light on this vase:

Ekimp:
That’s good. I’ve scraped off the label to have a proper look at the pontil mark and it isn’t ground and polished as I had thought, it is more like you describe the depression on your piece. Around the edges of the depression it looks very like a polished pontil mark, but in the middle, there is some surface texture like it’s been moulded or heat treated in some way.

They do look to be from the same stable, hopefully some more examples will pop up over time.
