This Egyptian Revival ephemera/glass is interesting and the Saint Louis catalogue is 1872.

Wiki says this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_Revival_architecture_in_the_British_Isles

Small quotes: -
'Egyptian Revival architecture is comparatively rare in the British Isles.'
and
'By the end of the 19th century, the style had very nearly disappeared, but in 1922 with Howard Carter's discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb the style underwent a dramatic revival it was used particularly for cinema architecture and sometimes for factory buildings.'

I have read there was a large sphynx memorial put up in Boston's Mount Auburn cemetery in 1872 commemorating the end of the Civil War.

I wonder what triggered the inspiration for these candlesticks and paperweights around that time period.
