Moser Bowl identification

MoserBowel553:
Hello

I am in possession of a Moser bowl that I am trying to get more information about, but can't find anything about it online. I contacted Moser who told me that the bowl is "cut on 18 edges and drank purple" and that it's product number is "553", a number I found on the box that it is stored in. However, they couldn't find any more information about it.

I have attached a few photos of the bowl - you can see the Moser marking on the underside - and the label on the box.

There appear to be some incredibly resourceful people in this chat board, so hoping someone can uncover something insightful.

Thank you!
Rob

Lustrousstone:
I'm not sure what info you are looking for. The fact that it has a barcode on the box means that it's no older than 1970s but if Moser couldn't give you any more I doubt there's much else to be found out

flying free:
It's a very attractive bowl and seems to be influenced by some 1920s/30s facet cut Czech glass in that colour.
Hard to get anything from the label but the words Misa Kulata translate from Czech as 'round bowl'
Then further down the word fialová translates as purple.
The design number 553 is on the box.
So no more info than that which Moser gave back to you.

It would have been interesting to know who the designer was and what year but it seems they can't give that information unfortunately.  Lustrousstone has given you a year relating to the bar code label being used, which is  helpful as it narrows the sale period down a bit.

This link was posted here a while ago, it may be of interest. The design number appears to be quite early but I don't know if that's correct, designs were often made over a long period. There are a few designers mentioned who might be worth investigating.

Thanks for reposting that link, must’ve missed it last time.
