Derek:
Hi Christine
Two very nice Allan Scott weights! I have about 10 in my collection, most bought direct from Allan. I have sorted
out 2 of my weights that were SGS exhibits - but certainly not purchased at an SGS exhibition. Both are by
Rosette Fleming and are spaced 10 years apart "Romance" in 1993 and "Ring of Roses" in 2003.
Its interesting to see how her design thoughts have advanced in that time.
Allan Scott also sent me the layout of the 1995 SGS exhibition - attached - which you say was held at the
Strathearn Gallery in Crieff. So unless there was a last minute change of venue it was NOT held in Crieff
but at the Caithness factory in Perth.
Any weights sold at SGS exhibitions would have been put through the venues books but the proceeds would
then have been passed straight to the artist.

Derek:
Apologies Sue!
I assumed incorrectly, that it was Christine who had made your post!
Allan Scott thinks that the SGS exhibition at the Strathearn Gallery
in Crieff was held in either 1999 or 2000.
He has copied of all the SGS catalogues up to 1998.

You are correct, I was wrong, I'm sorry. :-[
I haven't forgotten you though, or the fabulous talk you gave at the Perth Conference. :)
Derek:
Hi Sue
Thank you, and yes I remember the symposium well although it's a few years ago now! If you remember , I started the paperweight section of the talk, speaking about John Ford paperweights. I gave a subset of the talk to the NPS a couple of years later and amazingly one of the members had a John Ford paperweight and brought it to the meeting, talk about nonplussed! First and last time I have ever handled one.
Best regards
Derek
