Orrefors Bowl - Is this Watefall?
« on: September 28, 2025, 08:55:40 PM »
I'm trying to nail down the pattern name for this Orrefors bowl, I've seen it referred to as Waterfall but cannot find what I would call a reliable attribution, especially given dates quoted ranging from the 1940s to the 1980s as well as being referred to by other names.

I would be grateful if someone could provide an accurate attribution for it.

The bowl is 190mm (7.5") maximum diameter and maximum height of 102mm (4"), the base diameter is roughly 85mm (3.25"), weighs a hefty 3.3kg.

Signed on the base Orrefors, and the number F2671-131.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure how much help this is, but a vase very much like yours is in the 1940 Orrefors catalogue. It carries the serial number FU 2611 and i believe it was designed by Edvin Ohrstrom.
One of the five sizes given for this model is 190mm.
Changes to the design over the years may have resulted in a different catalogue number.
2671 shows a different type of bowl.
I don't see any other name given to this bowl.
Tim

Thank you for your input Tim, never thought it would be so difficult to pin down. I have seen similar bowls attributed to Ohrstrom in the 40s, but also seen attributions to others and later years. Thanks again.

This is F2611 (Often misdescribed online as being part of Vicke Lindstrand's Stella Polaris range. ) There are very few items in the early catalogues that are given names but this model is consistently unofficially referred to as waterfall .
