Bought recently at a antique mall/collective in Monterey, California. So-called late blown ware made post U.S. civil war [U.S. civil war 1861-1865]. Truly, the best Sandwich engraved piece I have ever come across and I was very happy to pay $50.00 U.S. Just one minor bump on the cut finial, otherwise excellent condition. The five engraved panels [vignettes?] of draped flowers and foliage I think exceptional for this period at Sandwich. The decorative banding on the lid and bowl also incorporates a draped chain of sorts made up of small polished circles [punties] with engraved connectors. Possibly a special order piece and probably not one of their standard patterns. 8 3/4 in. overall height [22.5 cm].

Similarities in quality of engraving and construction
