Davisdson Pearline Dish
« on: November 06, 2025, 03:24:48 PM »
This has some damage but I bought it because I didn't recognise the shape or pattern. It resembles the 1891 "Lady Caroline" pattern but the gadroons on the bowl are swirled, not vertical. I can't find the shape in the catalogue. Overall diameter 5".

The feet are wrong for Lady Caroline as well. Perhaps Greener or if not English, US made

There are a few Burtles Tate pieces c1890 that may be close to Davidson yellow or blue. You can only pick them out by density testing. If it's BT expect something in the region 3.1 to 3.3 - well above northeast glass of the period.

Thanks Neil, the density is around 2.4 and certainly not above 2.5. I will research a bit more.

To me the feet look very similar to some shown here, scallop shells on top, rings underneath, though slightly different/more finely moulded to the pieces of Lady Caroline I have.
