Hi guys and gals. Can anybody shed any light on this 'Jug'?

Hi Pamela.
You guess away. It's good of you to try and help. Thank you
As for it being part of a cruet set, I think it would be too big for that. Most cruet sets I've seen are a lot smaller. This jug/vase/whatever is approx 220mm x 190mm.
Mind you saying that, if it is part of a cruet set, I'd love to see the giant salt and pepper pots that go with it!!

I'll take a stab at this one. It looks like an apple with a piece sliced off. Perhaps it is a fruit bowl ..... :?:

Hi Lily.
Y' know what, that's a pretty good stab!! As daft as it sounds, it never occured to me that it might be a fruit bowl!!
One of the things that attracted it to me when I first saw it was the apple shape, when you look at it straight on. But, when you look at it sideways, the 'lip' bit looked like it was there for pouring liquids. It looked like a jug, all be it a very stylised jug, and the 'jug' thing got stuck in my head!!
But yeah, it could be a fruit bowl. It would explain why it's the worst 'jug' in the world to pour from from!! lol.
Connie:
It reminds me of an ice bucket style made by Morgantown Glass (I know this isn't Morgantown). Could the "pouring lip" be a place to hang the ice tongs?

Hi
Sadly, it's not. I've tried with my pair of ice tongs and they just kept falling off. Shame that, it was a good idea.
It's the 'belly' of the bowl and the edge of the pouring lip protruding out more or less the same distance that stops it. We'd be hard pressed to get anything to hang from there. :(
By the way, is your real name Connie?
