Mdina candlesticks?
lyndhurst44:
Hi,
Yes Trudy that certainly seems to clear the mystery, two stopperless perfume bottles. Perhaps that's why there is no base signiture.
Thanks,

Hi There,
Indeed they are both Mdina and bottles, rather than candlesticks. However, as so many Italian restaurants have used (wine) bottles for candle holders, then why not?! From my research so far, these bottles were produced after Michael Harris left in 1972, and must have proved quite popular as they aren't hard to find today.
Mdina did produce candlesticks, but they are pretty scarce. For those who know the Mdina 'Chalices' with their trailed 'craggy' stems -- take off the goblet bowl, shrink what's left by 50% and add a small, clear glass tube above the craggy bit to hold the candle - and there you have them.
