Amber Oval Dish Good Luck
Tony H:
Hi Everyone
A Happy New Year to all.
Can anyone help with ID for this Amber coloured glass dish, it is oval shaped 6.5" long 5" wide and 1.5' high.
The design is crossed riding crops and a horse shoe, with the words Good Luck.

Tony, I did try looking it up. The way the letters are made of stippling lends me to believe that it might be English. Maybe someone out there might have a better clue. Terry in Iowa

I have some flint round plates with the same edging and stippled lettering which commemorate royal coronations. I'm sure they're English,

Possibly Matthew Turnbull?

Hi Tony,
Both Davidson and Greener produced commemorative plates with this kind of frilly edge. As the plate has a racing theme and Thomas Davidson was a keen horse racer, then it is possible that this is a Davidson Plate.
