Most oldish Dartington boxes are quite simple affairs with a picture of what's inside and the appropriate words.

Last week I bought a boxed "DAISY" butter platter FT214. The box features a rather attractive painting by Kim Thrower of the platter in use with a formal garden scene seen through a curtained window. Kim Thrower can only have been in his early '20s when he painted this.

Did he paint a whole series for the boxes of this range? Was this his earliest commercial artwork?

Thanks, Frank. That last one is a duplicate of what I bought. I am now more convinced that they must be very early artwork by him because he got his shadows wrong on both, not just the butter platter. He's got the sun hovering at roughly tree-top height above the left side of the garden! It puts the perspective right out and makes the arch in the background look strangely twisted.
