Iridised Burmese j.i.p vase
heartofglass:
Here is a beautiful jack-in-the-pulpit vase, in Burmese glass with an iridised finish. It glows under u.v like Burmese is meant to do.
It is 15.5 cm tall & the rim is 12.5 cm across. It has a spiral around the stem, more visible in the back view of the vase. No markings.
It would not be usable as a vase, as it is unusually shallow inside, only a few cm deep.
I bought it from a dealer who specialises in carnival & Fenton, & although he bought it in the U.S he didn't think it was Fenton.
I have the book on Fenton Burmese but there isn't a piece quite like it.
I know there are a few firms who make Burmese from Fenton cullet, but they apparently mark their items.
Any ideas on a maker?
Thanks! :)

Hi Marinka -
This JIP vase reminds me of pieces made by a comtemporary glass artist whose website was posted here recently. But I can't remember which thread it was posted in
Hopefully the member who posted the link will see this and point us in the right direction

Was it the Rick Strini vases?

Thank you, David. That is the artist I was trying to remember.
Here is a link to his product page which shows some similar vases

Similar but I don't think the same, unless it was an earlier design. No trails on the ones shown and the base looks different.
Edit: lovely vase though!
