Is this 'frilly' cased & bubbles bowl Murano?
« on: November 29, 2006, 12:31:06 AM »
I posted this earlier on the general glass forum but with luck so far. It's been suggested to me elsewhere that it may be Murano ~ can anyone confirm/deny this please?
It's something like 6" across with a flat bottom (no pontil mark), with controlled bubbles and cased in clear glass. Obviously good quality!
Many thanks in anticipation, John.

There have been many previous discussions about these kinds of bowls. There are a number of Murano-related websites you can check. I had a similar bowl and it was suggested by a member - and eventually confirmed - that it could be Chalet Art Glass from Canada. You might want to explore Chalet.

Here's a weblink for Chalet:

Thanks for the information and the link ~ much appreciated. I'd already looked at Chalet but wasn't sure as I hadn't seen any pieces with controlled bubbles. However, there is one on the link you gave me, so maybe that's what it is. Will keep digging!
Cheers, John.
