Carnival from Poland II: Zabkowice
Glen:
Tony - yes, isn't the name a splendid coincidence? :) In fact the UK Hodgsons mentioned it too, and wondered if they might be related to you :D Thanks for the kind words too.
Della - sincere thanks for your constant support.
Tony H:

PS have you seen my new topic " LAROC Dressing table set Czech-Slovakia "
Anne:
Wow! Glen, another fascinating article, thank you. And what a wonderful jardiniere... I love it. Is this something that was made in non-Carnival glass as well?
Sorry to hear that the family health problems persist, it is hard to cope with, but especially at times such as Xmas/New Year. Hope that 2007 is a better year for you all.
Cathy B:
Hi Glen,
Best wishes to you and Steve. Don't feel obliged to answer - everyone will understand.
It's marvellous that you've worked out the Beverly Crystal conundrum after all these years. So did Zabkowice must have made those intaglio Cupid and Diana the Huntress patterns?
I've got another piece I must dig out to show you. It's got the intaglio device and a similar rim, but the effect has been ruined with a matt green enamel over the pattern.
Take care and take all the time you need. You, Steve and your family are in my thoughts.
Cathy B:
Just another thought - we probably need an addition to the Glassworks Pronounciation Guide for Zabkowice and Hortensja.
