Neodymium - FM Konstglas Ronneby (Marcolin)
« on: January 06, 2007, 11:26:16 PM »
Hi,

I would like to share these two pictures with you!

I have two items from FM Konstglas Ronneby (Marcolin) that are lilac/blue
and lilac/green. The lilac on both change colour between
daylight/incandescent light and fluorescent lighting.

Here are my two items:
http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-4500
http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-4499

I have now discovered that this is called Neodymium. Fascinating subject!

You can read more here: http://www.mindspring.com/~reyne/neowhatsis.html
"lavender/lilac in daylight or in incandescent light and then turns to a
pale blue color in fluorescent lighting"

My thanks to David for the above info!

regards,
Ingela

Very nice Ingela - I haven't seen another colour used with Neo glass before. What a striking combination! 8)
