Powells or Somebody Else

(1/2) > >>

ginfor:
This vase is a transparent mint green with wide panel optic and with opalescence in the panels and swirling a bit through the rest of the vase. Height is about 12 inches and the pontil is unfinished.  It's a uranium formula. The previous owner thought maybe Powell or another English company.

Frank:
Pontil picture might let out Powell, but it is not clear, can you do a closer shot at a lower angle please.

ginfor:
Frank,

I'll reshoot the pontil tomorrow when I've got light. What are we looking to see or not see to eliminate Powell?

Thanks.
Forrest

ginfor:
Here's a detail of the pontil.  Considering the number of looks so far with almost no  opinions given, an attribution is looking problematic.

Frank:
Hi,

Don't take the number of views as any indication, it only takes one who recognises this to ID it. A lot of the more experienced in older glass are on holiday still.

The close confirms that the scar is much messier than I have seen on any Powell and I am not familiar with opaque ware from them. Looking through some books Richardson's popped up as a contender, but not an area I know well. Give it time.
