I thought this footed bowl/comport was Dartington but...
« on: January 27, 2007, 04:08:17 PM »
Hi again all,

I was pretty sure that this footed bowl/comport/vase??? was Dartington, but haven't be able to find it anywhere. It's about 17cm tall by 16.5cm rim diameter, is lead crystal glass and has what I think is horizontal optical ribbing in it. Despite how it appears in the picture, the sides are actually parallel (i.e. vertical). Can anyone here help?

Picture of stem/foot is at http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v519/hog-man/mystery%20glass%202/IM000806.jpg

Sorry to keep pestering you, and many thanks in anticipation. John.

No, not Dartington. Frank Thrower liked thick feet and stems. Looks Polish, imported by a London Dealer called Reducta 1970-1985, but from which of 8 factories I could not say. made probably for British/Western European market!
