pink art deco perfume bottle with semi nude lady
« on: February 07, 2007, 04:43:16 PM »
Here is an obvious Art Deco perfume bottle I purchased earlier today. The bottle is missing it's puffer assembly but is otherwise in reasonably good shape, just one tiny nick that can be seen to left of screw top. Can anyone advise on maker please?

My first inclination is that this would be european, probably czech glass. But it's just a guess.

Yes could be. It certainly seems to have the Experts baffled. Very quiet!
Having had some advice from a local glass restorer it also seems the nibble could easily be removed and a sympathetic new puffer system fitted quite easily and cheaply. I might consider that option as it seems to be quite a rare item.
Many Thanks for your opinion.

First of all, don't assume anything is rare because there were no attributions forthcoming within 24 hours!
Secondly, it is obviously a part of a dresser set, and unless you have the set complete don't get your hopes up on value.
good luck.

Just my way of adding a bump Ivo, and it worked. Once questions fall into page 2 they can disappearer forever.
But "obviously??", are you saying you know the origen of the piece. I know I am relitively new to this game but did they make dresser sets with perfume bottles included, especially one with a puffer. Perhaps you can reveal a similar one to me so that I can be aware of them in the future.
Thanks,

Hi Franks,
Thanks for that, obviously they do exist, but have you seen one with the impressed female form. I was just hoping the actual design of the piece might jog someone's memory of a similar pattern on a flower frog or a art deco vase or whatever. Just to have some clue as to the maker.

Cheers,

Equally many dresser sets came without perfume bottles, and the bottles often seem more desirable than dresser sets and may sell without their puffers

In my bric-a-brac c1980 shop these bottles were sold as items but the rest of the sets were stuck in the rummage boxes outside, many pieces did just get thrown away as they would not sell
