Lovely little signed weight - wild flowers and grasses, but I can't read the sig

Oh dear. Yet again my ability to read scrawly signatures is very much put to the test and found wanting.
This is a very lovely little paperweight, for some reason I thought it might be American? I can't read the signature at all. Because of the background, it is very difficult to even see it on the photo, so I also blew it up and outlined the signature in blue, in case it helped.
It didn't for me, but might for someone more experienced.

Firstly, I know almost zero about paperweights, but it does bear a passing resemblance to Peter Layton's landscape series. I don't know how he finishes off paperweights and could be wildly wrong! :)
