Chris Harrison:
Heidi,

I recently bought six of these.

http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-5051

Straight sided, 5.5" tall, 2.25" diameter  Sadly, no box.

Haven't seen this design anywhere. Greyish roses with white highlighting, plus a gold rim.
Any ideas?

Thanks,
Chris

David E:
I don't think these are AHW or Ravenhead, but Heidi should know better.

Heidimin:
Hi, Chris. Interesting...  :-\

The size and shape are exactly right for Sherdley/ Ravenhead slim jims. I've never seen any with a gold rim before, and the books imply that this feature was unique to the top-of-the-range gaytime shape - but that's not to say they don't exist.

The other question mark I have is the flower motif - most of the flower designs I've seen are quite stylised, whereas this looks more naturalistic, and in general the Sherdley/ Ravenhead designs tend to cover the whole glass. But I'm still quite new to collecting these glasses and there is quite a lot of stylistic variation over the 16-18 years they were produced, so I'm still constantly being surprised...

David E:
It's possible Sherdley/Ravenhead supplied these glasses to a company who customised them to suit, or they were personalised for a distributor. Chance sourced their glasses from Nazeing and then Dema at some stage, but whether United Bottle permitted this practice  I have no idea.

Having said that, I'm still not familiar with the designs by Annette Meech and John Clappison!  :-[

Pip:
Hiya Heidi, I was watching those Gaytime glasses as well ... really nice, I'm glad you got them.
