Lion Sfumato Paperweight
svazzo:
Hi everyone!
Just bought his paperweight and wondered if anyone had seen a similar piece.
It has an sfumato technique, but I didnt want to say it was Murano until I heard other opinions.
Th epiece is fairly large at 4 1/4" long.
Any info/suggestions would be great!

I've seen a couple with human faces by an artist named Chris Belleau.

Thank you for the info. I'll check him out on the internet.

I just looked at some pictures of Belleau's work. It looks like he used a different technique. This weight has a lot more bubbles than his too.

Hi again,
Yea, I looked on the net and found his website. There is 1 example that with a man face on it, but I also think the technique is different. The other pieces that had faces on them looked like they were worked from underneath, maybe carved and then cased back with glass.
