Unusual Mdina wheel shaped paperweight/sculpture, early or recent?

Reminds me of my childhood. We lived in a split level. One day my mum came home and noticed a burn line along about the mid-point of the upstairs bathroom. She was livid. What had we done with a cookie sheet that was so hot it burnt the door...
We finally figured out that the sun, coming in the bathroom window, was then reflecting off her magnifying make-up mirror and reflecting the heightened sunlight onto the door, then as the sun moved from east to west, the burn line moved across the door.
Then she apologized and then we finally were able to laugh about her accusations :)

I have now got to go through my latest Mdina haul and work out what goodies I have got. I do know that I have a fish vase in there somewhere, question is how big and how old is it ..... 8)

Nope, I've never heard that he used these patterns and colours due to the interest in space and the Apollo mission - cool thought (or dream!) though. The patterning and colours relate to the chemicals and working processes used, and his previous experiences at the RCA with Sam Herman.
