--- Quote from: josordoni on February 23, 2007, 12:08:45 PM ---I nearly set fire to the table at a car boot the other year... I hadn't thought about the sun coming in through the weights, and had them set out on a dark blanket for protection.  When we looked over and saw about 30 little plumes of smoke we sort of moved them quickly.

Reminds me of my childhood. We lived in a split level. One day my mum came home and noticed a burn line along about the mid-point of the upstairs bathroom. She was livid. What had we done with a cookie sheet that was so hot it burnt the door...

We finally figured out that the sun, coming in the bathroom window, was then reflecting off her magnifying make-up mirror and reflecting the heightened sunlight onto the door, then as the sun moved from east to west, the burn line moved across the door.

Then she apologized and then we finally were able to laugh about her accusations  :)

MarkHill:
Good Lord Lynne, you have most certainly done okay - very very well in fact, especially at that price. What a nice pair!
Thanks for the comments on the book too!
Best

Ah.... sadly,  Mark, it was Andy, not I that nabbed the inside outs...

But I do echo his sentiments on your book, safely received, thank you!

I have now got to go through my latest Mdina haul and work out what goodies I have got.  I do know that I have a fish vase in there somewhere, question is how big and how old is it ..... 8)

Andy:
Hi Mark,
it was me , Andy, not Lynne with the pair of inside out vases,
did i read somewhere, or is it my imagination, that Michael Harris did that
'spacey, star trek' pattern because of the interest in the Apollo missions ???

Cheers,
Andy
 :)

Hi Lynne, snap! ;)

MarkHill:
Ooops, sorry Andy and Lynne - 'tis a good buy...Andy!
Nope, I've never heard that he used these patterns and colours due to the interest in space and the Apollo mission - cool thought (or dream!) though. The patterning and colours relate to the chemicals and working processes used, and his previous experiences at the RCA with Sam Herman.
All the best,
Mark
