ID on This Glass Vase please

Any information on this large glass vase , it looks to have been hand made,you can feel the different layers of coloured glass, while the top is speckled and smooth the base looks to have been applied afterwards, on the base there is a pressed stamp which looks like a castle maybe with a key below, there is an etched mark also PA 1998, the vase stands 11.5" tall and weighs 1.25kgs

Very similar to the Gibralter flag.

I'm sure I read somewhere (Ivo?) about a castle motif - I'll have a quick rummage...

Thanks  to Tigerchips for the Gibralter flag , after taking my boy to football pratice my wife had in the past thought malta or Gibralter and found a link to Gibralter Crystal http://www.gibraltar-crystal.com/ and the PA are the initials for paul alexander master glass blower, there is also some information on the Glass museum http://www.glass.co.nz/gibruby.htm
