Title: Millefiore pendants
Post by: Max on March 22, 2006, 10:38:51 AM
I bought these in a moment of madness.

I think the two similar ones are gold plated silver (there's a hallmark...I think I can make out 925?) and the 'tree' pendant I think could be just gold, it's fragile and fine.

These are the type of thing that tourists would pick up, aren't they?

Possibly, but this type of jewellery (http://www.ysartglass.com/PaulYsart/PYP54.htm) can become very sought after

Hi Max!

Wow! Looking at your pendants reminded me of one I have that is similar to those. I bought it many, many years ago. I was shopping with my Mom at a outlets mall here in Michigan. They had a Murano store there, and we went in to look around. At the time I wasn't into glass, we were just looking. I bought this pendant and it's trimmed in silver. I have to polish it every once and a while or it tarnishes. If I only knew then what I like now...I could have bought some great pieces of glass!!! The store is long gone, but boy did I miss the boat on that one!!!

That's a nice pendant Cathy. with closer packed millefiore than mine.   :D

I know what you mean about wishing you'd bought more glass years ago.  I think back to when Whitefriars glass was worth almost nothing...I wish I'd bought some big bricklayers - I'd be RICHHHHHHH now!

I thought I'd mention too that my pendant came in a little bag. On the bag it says "IL Mosaico Veniziano" I think IL Mosaico means "The Mosaic" but I'm unsure to Veniziano. It's kinda hard to read, but I think I have it spelled correctly.
