Title: Kosta 1950s Red Vase (Bowl?) - Who Designed?
Post by: horochar on June 04, 2009, 01:25:10 AM
I love this piece!  The Kosta label is a nice bonus and sure helps in identifying it, insofar as it has no engraved signature.  I am wondering who designed it.  Also, is there a name for the line, is it a vase or is it a bowl, when was it made?  Any other information about it would be appreciated.

Charles.

I've been watching this thread hoping it will be identified - that's a simply gorgeous bowl Charles - I love it.  I hope we find out who designed it.

Yes - it's strange to me that somebody out there wouldn't have information on this bowl, because it is a molded piece that would have been produced, presumably, in relatively large quantities.  All of the Iittala molded and utilitarian pieces from the 1950s forward, e.g. Kaj Franck and Tapio Wirkkala, are so well documented.
