Hi, I bought this thinking it might be old as it looked handmade with the scalloped edge being ground. It has a nice change of colour from Amber to cranberry and looks lovely in the light. The bobbles in the glass are on the inside.
Any ideas anyone
Thanks

this waisted shape was quite common for amberina in the late C19, with ball optic-moulding and this sort of scalloped top rim.
this one doesn't look to be dark enough in the red area to be Mt. Washington, and they may not have ground/beveled their rims anyway.
Quite possibly Continental - but lets hope this will encourage the States people to give us the benefit of their experience. :)

Stuart, whilst we're waiting for answers, you might care to read Sid's comments on page two of this link....

not that it will help with attribution for your piece, but his knowledge of real amberina is far more sound than mine, and it might help you to understand a bit more of this distinctive type of glass. You might also use the Board's search facility - there will be a lot to read on your type of glass.
As to Ken's comments about 'flashing', there is a need to be careful here, as from memory the States people use that word to mean something different to us Europeans - as he explained to us recently :)
