The multiple subtly clashing colours, the swag decor and the application of clear glass features all fit.

Unikat is German for "Unique". And I think the signature reads E. Eisch, for Erwin Eisch and if you think this is a bit of worthless rubbish can I have it pretty, pretty, pretty please?
It is not worthless. It's really rather wonderful.
E. Eisch was a German pioneer of the Studio Glass Movement.
However, there seems to be nother name there, possibly Schaffler?
I'm not sure of all the ins and outs of the whole history. There is an Eisch dynasty. The studio name is Glashutte Valentin Eisch. Founded in'46.
I love it anyway.

I think the mark probably reads Val St. Lambert, (even if the St. seems to be missing).

Glass / Empoli Opaline Vase
« Last post by NevB on May 09, 2024, 02:23:36 PM »I'm pretty sure this was made by the Empoli company whose labels have been found on other pieces with an LG mark. I think someone has added the Murano label and the rather curious plaque which is a piece of red baize, surrounded by a gilt chain and with a plastic head on top. I think I will try to remove it somehow although it is well stuck down.
