Hi All. Does anyone recognise this Krosno Vase - who designed and when? Nice large heavy piece . measures 29 cms tall and weighs 1.7 kgs. The rim (which I have no idea how to describe) measures 13 cms wide. Ground and polished pontil and cleasr plastic? Krosno label. Any help much appreciated.

I think it's safe to say that very little is known about Krosno glass
-
Unfortunately I thought that might be the case but as there seem to be lots of collectors I just thought there might be one who used this board

Just an update. I got in touch with Krosno and they provided the info. Vase is from a range called Yarra introduced in 2003 at the Ambiente Fair in Frankfurt. Designed by Beata Szajna in 2002.

That's interesting - I've never heard of anybody being able to get in contact with Krosno!
The only thing I've managed to glean is that it is not a manufacturer as such, just an area of Poland where a lot of glass is made, and subsequently sold under the ageis of the Krosno name.
Labelled pieces are fairly thin on the ground, and do not tend, as far as I know, to be recent. I have a vase I brought back from Holland and a very nice pair of candlesticks. I had a fabulous decanter but I gave it away to somebody who lusted after it, and they went on to smash it. A retail organisation called LSA seemed to have taken over whant Krosno used to do, but on a much bigger scale and including all sorts of homewares and ceramics. Mostly, you see LSA lables on the sorts of things you used to see Krosno labels on.
If anybody knows more than that, or if I'm all wrong, I'd love to be put right or hear about it. ;D

This is who I've been in touch with
http://www.krosno.com.pl/
and the 2 people I've had contact with are
Wioletta Urbanowicz - Manager of Marketing and Product Preparation
and
Renata Malik - Senior Sales Manager Europe
I assumed it was an actual company from the website I found

;D Thanks. I see there is a dateline history - that might help, but my Polish is appalling, (I am still struggling with learning how to pronounce Wroclaw - Vrosisch? )
I may need some help from Anik. :)
Polish glass is dreadfully underrated and unknown. ;)

It does seem they were a manufacturer - new to me as I thought the same as Sue
