Just bought nice spiral paperweight signed to base MH 1977 - date is fine but who could MH be, someone suggested Mike Hunter? Any help appreciated.

Hi Adam,

Yes, I think Mike Hunter too. It looks like an early weight by him.

I think 1977 might be too early for Mike Hunter. His own studio (Twists Glass) was founded in 1998. From what I can find through internet searches, he developed his skills at Wedgwood Glass (11 years).

Unfortunately, even though I spent well over an hour with Mike and his wife, Sue, in an airport lounge, I don't remember if I asked about his early days, or if I did, what his reply was! And I also can't remember what he said about his background when he was the guest speaker at one of the Cambridge Paperweight Club meetings. ::)

Sue Hunter got back to me, Mike says its not one of his - he had only just left school in 77. So Kevin you were right. He did say he thought it looked like MM which now I look at it could be the case. Anyone any ideas on MM as a maker?

Could be MM ......or could it be WW ?

Depending on which way you look at it, I guess.....just a thought    :-\
