Yes i found it for a mate it was made at IOW and taken to Gozo as a sample , a one off!!!! Tim confirmed this , my mate was drooling all the way home . I found it just before shut down time many people had looked and not bought...... the signatures were very hard to see . jp

A picture is worth a thousand words.... :)

Sorry my mate has it in his massive collection now and he is not a member of GMB . I believe it will be in Marks new book as is most of his collection . sorryeeeee jp

Strange, though that it wasn't recognised "as something" without the need to resort to finding marks on it. ???

see below i think i pushed a wrong button ,,,,,,,, again Doooooh
Well it was on a very overloaded stall the holder i know well and i spent a lot of time chatting and picking up odd pieces to look at the bases as one does , he also had a very very early piece of Ditchfied that i have one of his is signed , i have been trying a long time to ID it i think i showed it to Adam A acouple of years ago and he said possibbly Ditchfield , anyway Tim Harris knew the piece well and gave us full history . Sue you know and respect my friend well , he i a bit shy tho .

It's always very exciting when you find something different and new/not seen before :) Shame we can't see pics but it sounds a wonderful find John. And also great to have identified one of your own pieces as well.

I thought all the really early Ditchfield bits were unique, signed and numbered... I didn't know there were any duplicates. ???
(Are you using a mobile phone to put your replies in jp? I'm having trouble understanding you - I don't text so I don't understand text "speak".)

Hi,
I don't suppose it was this one that was on ebay a few weeks back. I gave it a miss but it did look a nice vase.

Yes i believe that was it . problem solved , mmmmmm not that price tho .
Sorry Sue i dont understand you!!!! maybe the accent . ;)

Looks a nice little vase... if I collected IOW vases, I would have been interested...but I only collect birds and animals!! Lol!!
-
??? My accent is Edinburgh.
Probably the best-spoken and most easily understood english to be found anywhere in the uk and northern Ireland.... according to foreign students who want to learn english with a good accent. ;D
The vase looks like a bit of a mix what is called "Crystal blue stripe", designed by MH at Mdina and still made today and the early Rosenthal range.
It's a bit late in the day at 1990 for this to be occurring at IoWSG, so interesting in that respect. Slightly more subtle, nice.

Yes M it was nice to see the signed Ditchfield piece the design is like the LC Tiffany iridescent peacock feather, mine has a slightly different shape neck otherwise identical,,,, they both have small rough indented pontils with a matt flatted ring around it . Looking more closely at mine with a better magniification i can see a couple of letters , it helped knowing exactly where to look they are both very thick and heavy hence a lot of base wear . I know you appreciate the power of knowledge M . Cheers dont miss Brum . :) jp
