Quite a large one 3.5" flat polished base showing plenty of wear.

Hi Chris, :hi:
I saw one recently that was TVG Teign Valley Glass....I'll see if I can find it again....it was similar, but with black swirls.

Thanks for having a look Rosie cannot see anything similar on the website, thought their stuff was signed but maybe wrong?
Chris

TVG stuff is definitely not all signed.

I think this paperweight could be by Ingegerd Raman for Johansfors. Any one else think my vase and this weight are similar?

Cheers m will post a permanent picture which should make it easier to compare

Thanks m plenty of similarities looks like they could have been made by the same hand? the pulls are actually white then coated with blue, not sure why or how they managed that.
What's the base like is the same flat polished? and does it have the 'four leaf clover' appearance>
Finally how do I get the Scandinavian people to take a look Lol
Ooops just realise the pulls go the other way so the appearance on the base will be different.

grr just lost my post. My vase has a 5 leaf clover from the top - unfortunately mine pics are picking up the 'blue shadow in the clear' round the trails much more violently than they show in reality, which is barely at all like yours. You need to zoom in on pic 7 to see them on yours. My base is polished and then has a polished pontil mark in the centre, perfectly done.
I'll put a link in the Scandinavian glass section.

Regarding the question, "the pulls are actually white then coated with blue, not sure why or how they managed that", the answer (probably) is: that is how most relatively thick coloured ribbon is made - a coloured flashing over a white (opal) core. When the ribbon, or thread is worked into the item, then (perhaps) the stretching causes the colour to become thin and the white shows through. Another possibility is that the the colour can split out due to excesss heat in the working.
As far as an ID is concerened, I have no idea. But I do not think the two items shown so far in this thread have too much in common except for having pulled blue threads.
-
Kev, so would all pulled feathered items have this curious 'shadow' around the threads then? I thought that was a similarity that I haven't seen in other pulled/feathered items but perhaps that's just because it doesn't show up that well.

Thanks anyway m for the interest and effort in trying to identify the paperweight :sun:
I think there are similarities and can see where you were coming from with a possible connection, will hang on to it and see if any positive comments come from the Scandinavian section link.
Love the vase by the way ;D
