Stumped on this one.  Matt finish inside and out, points of corners are polished. 10cm high and across.

Daum by the look of it. Perhaps 1920s or 30s in date.

ooh now you say it, yes that makes sense.  Found a mark that matches on a Daum site, cheers matey :)

The piece itself resembles ancient Greek glass, I wonder if they designed the mark to also look like Greek lettering?

The signature is wheel cut (helps with a date) which I guess gives it some of it's character (no pun...). Less magic glasses Sue but it looked 'French' and early 20C at first glance, Suzy's third image shows the shape of the signature well and it looks right for Daum Nancy. Suzy's fourth photo is almost too close and detailed!

It's an "impressionist" signature.  ;D
