Title: Small bowl with controlled bubbles, maker?

hello!

can anyone help me with this small bowl with controlled bubbles, please?
my first thought was italian, but i´m undecided now because of the colour
and the base finish.
it´s 76mm (resp. 3") high and 115mm (resp. 4 1/2") wide

Dirk: What is it about the base that says "Not Italian" to you? o me, it looks like a Murano homage to the Venini/Scarpa bowl.

thanks for your reply, David. i think you´re right. it was just that the base is a tiny bit
less carfully polished than on venini pieces...
it seems i had a suspicious-day when i posted it. looks nice beside a ´real´ one:

I think we can give frosty base finishes a bad rep sometimes. I have had a few good AVeM pieces that had bases that was polished to frost. Most of my Murano pieces have been completely polished, but there were the exceptions. I wondered if the companies may have been making a large number of pieces, so had to skip the final polishing -- it does take a lot of time. If the base is nice -- and yours looks nice -- having a slightly frosted base doesn't rule out Murano.

While we're on the subject of bases -- many of the best American art glass studios do not polish the base of vessels at all. They ground and leave it au naturale, hopefully with a signature.
