This is a very heavy vase. I have no idea what it's made of. There are no markings on it except for 2 stickers. I think one of them shouldn't be on there. One says made in Italy and the other says Sasaki Crystal Handcrafted. I can't find any Sasaki that's made in Italy. Can someone help me identify what this is made of, what kind of glass (or crystal) and anything else.

A photo of the base from a little to the side would help. We need to be able to see whether it is flat, dished, polished etc. Also if there is marking a focused shot is essential.

Here is a picture of the bottom, I cannot find any markings on it whatsoever.

Sasaki Crystal is a wholesale supplier not a glassmaker, so they could well have bought from anywhere in the world. https://www.bloomberg.com/profiles/companies/5776629Z:JP-tokyo-sasaki-crystal-co-ltd

Anne has that always been so? I have a black Sasaki Crystal Duck Bowl and I remember Sasaki glases and Bowls that were distinctive back in the 90s.
OCDan that photo of the base was revealing in that it is now obvious the lighter stripes are actually raised and the vase is oval not round - neither piece of information was mentioned by your original description. The base is typical of a superior factory in that it is well finished. I would suspect a non-Murano Italian maker is quite likely.

Ross, it says they were founded in 1986 so I suppose so.

This vase does not look like Japanese glass to me (though it can be surprising) and even less like any Sasaki product I am familiar with, but I think you both are correct. Though I have no experience with Sasaki as a wholesale distributor, and don't know whether it is a related company (probably), I do know that Sasaki has been a producer of glass ware in Japan for over a century. Company history can be read here - http://www.toyo.sasaki.co.jp/e/company/history.html
