Bought this vase recently.
http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-3254
Can anyone please advise as to designer and factory?
Height 200 mm
Top diameter 125 mm
Extremely chunky.
Has indented base typical of Sklo Union production and is stamped TCHECOSLOVAQUIE.
Thanks

Hi Chris,
Possibly pre-war Josef Inwald, but I have nothing in my pattern sheets to confirm that.
I have seen a number of these here, so they were very popular in France.
I'll have a look at the Markhbeinn catalogue and see if it appears there.
I'll get back to you shortly.
Markhbeinn shows a similar vase though not identical, in the 1937 catalogue, with alternating panels of lines and lenses. Will see what else I can do to help, but imho, 1930's rather than post-war design.
regards,
Marcus

Many thanks, Marcus. That makes sense. I just doesn't have the same feel as the pieces designed by Vizner, Peceny, Urban, Panek, etc. Also it weighs twice as much as their 200 mm vases.

One of my faves, this would appear to be a Libochovice vase, pattern no. 3062.
Thanks, once again, to Marcus's magnum opus.

Hi Chris,
So immediately post-WWII after all, from the numbering.
Thanks for the kind words, though magnum vino is more my style... :24: :24:
