Title: Bowl/Ashtray with Colorful Fish, Czech?
Post by: TxSilver on May 21, 2010, 02:10:09 PM
I would appreciate some help on my new fish ashtray. The design reminds me of a couple of the pieces on Jindrich's site. The bowl part of the ashtray itself is made to appear opalino using swirls of blue and white glass. It looks like the bases of some of the lampwork figurines from Zelezny Brod Sklo. The colors selected for the fish also remind me of ZBS. The inside of the ashtray feels textured. The piece is 5" tall to the tip of the tail. Could my ashtray be Czech? I would love to hear it is ZBS.

Your piece is probabably Czech, made in Zelezny Brod, I am not sure with ZBS attribution, looks like Stanislav Halama, see

Thank you so much, Jindra. The fish looks much the same as the one on the yellow bowl. I am very pleased.

Well spotted Anita, your instincts were correct, as largely confirmed by Jindrich!
I wish I had seen it (... and recognised it)!
An excellent GMB thread!
